We live in a time where people are as passionate as ever about sharing their voice, especially as it pertains to the social justice movements that have swept across the country. That being said, many people want to protest but fear the backlash they might receive for their actions. In the past, people have used blurring techniques to hide people’s identities; however, AI advancements have made deblurring images easier. As a result, a team of researchers from Stanford University created an AI-powered bot that automatically tracks and covers BLM protestors’ faces in photos and videos. The technology places a black fist over protester’s faces, and the creators hope that their bot gets built into social media platforms in the near future.
